Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: AOBA Shennanigans/subsidiary

Thanks, Diana. That is you, right?

I think we already solved this little mystery as you can see below. You arrived a bit late to the party. By the way, I believe that Alpacatalk requires that you sign your posts.

[AlpacaTalk] [alpacapolitics] Re: AOBA fees

So some unnamed breeder told you this, and we should accept this as fact?
Someone told me that one of the big breeders is actually from Mars.
She heard it firsthand from the breeder, so it has to be true.
The lies are here, where is the sex and videotape?

And if I am not mistaken, now that my memory has been jogged, our
current settings are the default, and we actually have to change those
settings so that they are visible. Right?

And it's true, the only time I spend on the ARI site is registering
animals or looking up pedigrees and offspring of particular animals. I
don't even know how to look up other members' info!

No Libby. Anyone can see if they are not trying to divert attention
away from the real issue, is that very few people knew about this
development. I only read about it a few days ago. This is the biggest
stinking pile of claptrap I've seen come from the AOBA board in, oh, 4
years. And I am seriously considering contacting the Tennessee Attorney
General myself to have this thing investigated. But Jerry probably went
to college with him so maybe that would get those who are very
concerned about this nowhere.

It's still not legal for the boardmembers of a Non-Profit to also sit
on the board of a For-Profit which they have created. Wasn't legal,
isn't legal. Who think they won't get salaries? Who thinks the profits
from this spin-off will go to benefit the AOBA membership as a whole?

All one has to do is read the P&L statements to see that this is true.
I did not fabricate that! Nice try. I don't know who is receiving those
commissions, but someone is, it's on the P&L statements! Don't make
yourself a fool in trying to discredit me when I'm only quoting figures
I saw n AOBA's own financial records! Give the readers a little bit of
credit!

Libby, I have received ads and more ads and yet even more ads from
those people who have the memberships directory in the Excel database.
Stop with this frigging stupid line of interrogation, everyone
including me has received those email ads. You all know it.

Agian, Libby, I don't who this salesperson is, but the last page of the
Alpacas Magazine P&L Statement for the 2nd qtr 2007 (the last one
available) shows this:
Advertising Sales Commisssions YTD $34,673.97

Who gets this? I don't have this information, but it certainly appears
that someone does.

Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: [alpacapolitics] Re: AOBA fees

Hi Nancy...

There is absolutely no requirement to have a paid conference registration to
attend the National AOBA or ARI meeting. The most recent meetings were held
in the same hall that housed the vendors. Anyone, including the public, had
access to that area and there was no entrance checkpoint for the meeting.
No credentials were required for the area or the meeting, nor for that
entire building, for that matter. Beyond the tribute to Jodi Wever, you
didn't miss a lot.

Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: AOBA Shennanigans/subsidiary

I sure did not opt out and neither did Heather. I vaguely remember this topic a few months back on alpacasite. It just means we have not gone in and added the information. I don't spend a whole lot of time on the ARI site unless I am registering an animal. Do you? Or does Jess? Sorry for the inconvenience to all that are upset that they can't view our information. We will both be updating the info shortly. However, it is not like we are invisible and no one knows who we are.

You've opted not to include your name as owner of your animals within the
ARI database. Instead of listing your name it says 'not published by owner'.

This is a simple change made within your acount info.

Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: [alpacapolitics] Re: AOBA fees

Jess,
I do not have a right to say who told me this, however she is a well
known breeder and if she reads this she will probably speak up. I was
really disgusted because I could not afford to go just as any one of the public
could attend, vendors and such, and I said I would like to listen to one
National Meeting. I was told that people were not allowed to get in if they had
not registered and paid. She said not to regret because I could not get in
any way.

I will respectfully disagree. We were there and there was no requirement to
have any credential whatsoever to enter the vendor hall or the meeting area.
We did not display our badge nor was there any checkpoint of any kind in
that entire building. The only locations at nationals that require
credentials are the barns; same as previous years.

I challenge anyone that was "refused admittance" to step forward, identify
themselves and tell us exactly where they were refused admission and by
whom. Again, the only locations that require credential are the barns, and
they're a long way from the meeting hall and vendor displays.

The determination by the CPA firm that AOBA had UBI tax liabilities was
announced at the meeting. Discussion of the item and subsequent decision to
form a subsidiary has also appeared in the BOD minutes. They're online and
available to everyone.

The conspiracy theories here are getting deeper than our poop pile.
