[AlpacaTalk] Help with stickers in fiber please

I have two of my little show boys who got themselves in a sticker patch. Does anyone have any advice for getting the stickers out of their fiber without ruining it? All advice will be highly appreciated.

[AlpacaTalk] RE: Bottle Baby Kids - Carolyn

<<< Hi, this is the Carolyn, that accidentally posted to the wrong group! I
ment to post to my Nubian group, about my goats.--lol I am an alpaca
breeder first and most, and yes I am on this group a lot. Sorry again,
that I
sent my goat question to the alpaca talk group. Maybe it was ok, though
as yes, it did get a milk topic going--lol If my alpaca Cria's, needed a
supplement, I would use milk from my goats. I have only had to do that
once though, and only for about 2 weeks. The cria did extremely well on
it.
Carolyn Milana>>>

I am so jealous, and can't wait to have my own goats milk!
Did you get your feeding question answered?

Warmly, Janice in NW GA

[AlpacaTalk] RE: Pregnancy testing

<<< Janice - you might try trading breedings with one of your alpaca ranch
neighbors if your male shows no interest. I feel for you!

SUSAN OLSON>>>

one of my alpaca ranch neighbors ?! hahahaha ROFLOL!
Girlfriend, I'm in GA!.....rural GA!
My neighbors call these critters Emu and I am not kidding!

Hope your male will forget; my only remaining intact male clearly has no
interest in my matriarch - my best, first, and favorite girl, she has
the sweetest disposition. I so want another baby from her.

Re: [AlpacaTalk] RE: Bottle Baby Kids - Carolyn

Sorry guys I got my terms confused. Please disregard everything in my last post except for the sentence: If fed fresh it is the most universal, natural, baby food there is. I will stand by that.

Hi Carolin & All:
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by goat milk being dead. Goat milk is naturally pasteurized (not actually, it's just that the butter fat is more uniformly mixed through the milk and does not separate easily) as it comes from the doe so does not have to be heated. If fed fresh it is the most universal, natural, baby food there is.

In an emergency I would feed goat milk whole to a crea. If I had an egg at hand I might add it.

One caution I would take would be not to over feed as a hungry crea can easily consume more milk than is good for them. Nature compensates for this by having the hembra come into her milk slowly. Someone thaught of everything when they designed these animals.

<<<< Hi,.......me Carolyn or another? I've seen the posts on this topic on
AlpacaTalk. I early on used diluted goat milk, but have since found
that ordinary Vit. D milk with added whipping cream works great and is
readily
available. Have fed several over the years using this. They seem to
like it and do well, growing well and maintaining healthy beans.

Carolyn Marquette,>>>

Sorry Carolyn, there was another Carolyn who posted here about bottle
feeding goat kids - and then apologized for posting to the wrong
group.....but she sure did get a heated discussion going lol.

I don't know if she is a regular poster here or not, I didn't recognize
her addy.
I'll send that post to her privately just in case she is not a regular here.

I had posted my take on the question was to use goat's milk for bottle
feeding goat!
It is readily available in pretty much any grocery store.  My only
complaint about it would be that it is "ultra-pateurized" which means
dead.  So for the crias I would go with the cow milk which everyone
seems to have good luck with.  I hope to never have to bottle feed
another alpaca!

Always good to see you post; hope your trip was good and I appreciate
you taking the time when you were in such a rush to offer advice to my
friend.  I hope his girl is doing better by now, she was making some
improvement; but haven't heard in a while, so I can't help but worry.

Warmly, Janice
