Re: [AlpacaTalk] Agistor selling out - $10k 4 females, 3 males + breedings

Thanks Judith.

Yes, Silas was really one of the great ones, very under-appreciated in my opinon, and died before his time due to AURV or "the snots" after herdmates came home from a show.

All of our offspring from Gypsy's Maximus, my mom's Silas son, have had the most consistent fleece quality and low micron, in addition to my mom's Snowmass Sumar Escobar offspring.

All of these females can be bred to Max (except Millie, of course), or Sumar, or any of our wonderful sires.

All offers will be considered. All open females can be bred as soon as contracts are signed. We are very willing to deal. We also offer no interest payments for up to one year.

In addition to this very nice small herd including breedings to herdsires owned by White Lotus and Woodland Meadows, I will donate 100% of my very modest 10% commission to the Montana Rescue fund.

Millie: She is half sister to Twyla Belle and my lovely Kallista (now sold). Their grandsire is Silas of Bolivia. Millie has fine fleece, 17.7µ at 1 year, nice crimp, and a gentle demeanor. She delivered a cria sired by Scirocco, my 3X blue ribbon winning Avatar son who had 16.6µ at one year and 20.7µ at 5 years... What a stunning little dark brown/maroon boy this is! Awesome silky fleece and gorgeous topknot.
$3500

Opal: Proven, full Peruvian dam. Her grandsire is JA Aladdin, with Yupanqui and Guellermo also in the pedigree. She is the dam of Leonardo and Millie. Her latest cria, now weaned, has gorgeous fleece! Bright, crimpy, silky, long staple. Opal loves to give kisses! And she's crazy for apples! Currently open. Can be bred immediately upon contract signing.
$3500

Sally: True black maiden, but may be turning Modern DSG. 2 years old. Very dense fleece, very bright and nice handle. She is a very well built girl. Square and correct, and heavy bone. Beautiful topknot and perfect teeth. I think she'll be an awesome production dam. Scirocco would be a fantastic match for Sally! Or choose a breeding to Bruegel or Julian.
$1500 Her owner is very motivated to sell, please make an offer.

Bella: Also half sister to Twyla Belle and Kallista. She is dark brown/maroon or bay black. A very sweet girl with really nice fleece. She had a 21µ count at 2 years, not bad at all for a dark alpaca, but typical of Gypsy's Maximus' offspring. She can be bred upon contract signing.
$2500 or best offer.

We will include Pinenut Alpacas Leonardo http://www.openherd.com/AlpacaPage.aspx?alpaca=18529 , free in this package, as well as Opal's beige 2009 son Leonidas, who is full Peruvian and also looks to be show quality, and Millie's cria at side. Please inquire for more info and fleece samples. Their owner is motivated to sell, and willing to deal. This offer includes 4 females, 3 males, and breedings for each of the females! What a deal!

I have asked about this at my feed store when this came up before but
they don't seem to know what I am talking about and say this beet pulp
with the molasses is the only beet pulp they have ever seen.
Maybe I will ask again.
Thanks, Janice

[AlpacaTalk] Full Peruvian dam and female cria at side - huacaya

Amadala is a sweet, medium fawn dam, whose own dam is a pattern (fawn and white) huacaya from suri parents. Amadala's sire is a full Peruvian maroon huacaya sire, blue ribbon winner with low microns into maturity. She has heavy fleecer weights and is a very easy keeper, and births without assistance.

Her cria, Kimiko, is a very sweet girl as well. Very mild mannered. Her sire is a grandson of Jolimont Peruvian Ivano. Her fleece defies description so far. It doesn't fit into either huacaya or suri types. But it does have all the characteristics that I have seen much discussion about, that fiber processors are looking for. She could be a gold mine, for all I know.
http://www.openherd.com/AlpacaPage.aspx?alpaca=33910

Please have a look at these girls, and if you think they have a place in your breeding program, make me an offer. ANY OFFER! We MUST make room in the barn and pastures.

[AlpacaTalk] 2X Blue ribbon winner, maintains fineness! 19.8µ at 4 years!

Are you looking for bargain priced elite huacaya herdsires? Is it all about the fiber on your farm? We've got some really great boys with great bloodlines available. Make an offer! Fleece samples upon request! He's a nice looking boy with excellent fleece.

Leonardo: med. fawn haucaya male, 7/8 Peruvian 2X Blue ribbon winner!
Sire: Snowmass Sumar Escobar, son of the famous Escobar and grandson of Hemingway.
2 time blue ribbon winner for fleece. Pedigree includes Yupanqui, Guellermo, and Aladdin on dam's side. 17.4µ at one year, 19.8µ at 4 years! We have his sire and two blue ribbon winning brothers on the farm. This fleece trait is dominant! We think he'll be every bit the pre-potent herdsire that his sire is.

$250 cash or best offer.

Sienna Illusion, Pluro grandson, fleece tested at 20.8µ at 4 years, with amazing zipper crimp.
He has four cria on the ground so far, two maroon boys and two true black girls. He has one blue ribbon for fleece at Estes Park, and one red ribbon, high scoring fleece in his class. We missed 1st place by 1/2 a point, and the judge's comment was better skirting would have raised the score.
I'm offering him because I am focusing my breeding program on Bolivians. Make an offer if you'd like to add Sienna to your herd.

If we had more space, we wouldn't even consider selling any of my boys, but the truth is, we're full. Take advantage of our situation!

[AlpacaTalk] Shearing... New Zealander Michael Banks

It's that time of year again and I am currently booking folks for shearing here in the Ohio region. Michael Banks is one of Mark Loffhagen's crew, and uses ropes to assure the safety of the alpacas and the workers. Michael is a great guy, very gentle with the alpacas, and he brings a head man along with him who can also trim teeth. Michael's fee is $25 per head.

In addition to doing a great job on huacayas, Mike does a fantastic job shearing suris as well and has been shearing our herd for 6 or 7 years.

If you need shearing done Michael will be in our area for the month of April. Let me know or call if you have any questions!
