[AlpacaTalk] RE: alpaca extremely sick/listmates

 

How is he doing Chrys?
What a heart breaking situation.
I pray he will recover.

After the recent discussion about eating alpaca I was thinking about this list and the tone and flavor (no pun intended) here and what it (you all) have meant to me and my alpacas.
Tho it has been quiet now for a while I was thinking of all the wonderful people here and how so many of you have pulled me thru bad times such as Chrys is experiencing.  When I first came here quite a few years ago I did not know any other alpaca owners and did not have a vet that would work with the alpacas.  I was on my own.   I was experiencing a lot of problems, illness, miscarriages and deaths with my beloveds.   So many here poured out their time and knowledge to help.     We saved a few and I buried a few.   Thankfully I have not had a crisis for the past couple of years and life with the alpacas has been calm and easy, for which I am thankful every single day.   I hope it remains so.   But I have been thru many a bad night, often many of them in a row, and the caring folks here have always come thru with advice, knowledge, and caring.   For that I thank you all and remain most grateful.   *That* is what this list is for me.   I was thinking about all this when Chrys came with her heartbreaking story.   I see all the same people offering her the same time, knowledge, caring and support.    It is reassuring to see you all still reading, still offering help and info.   We may not be big and we may not have the vets here that are on the other larger lists, but what a great bunch of knowledgeable people I am proud to call friends.
