Alpacas have different needs than other ruminants. I recommend NOT
running them in the same pastures, and providing free choice alpaca
mineral mix at the very least in addition to free choice hay. We feed
2nd cut orchard grass. Other areas have other grass hays available,
but you want something with around 12-14% protein. Many people feed a
pelleted feed formulated for alpacas.
Alpacas have higher need for selenium which will kill your goats, I
believe. Not enough will kill the alpacas, or at least make them sick
and weak, and affect fertility.
