[AlpacaTalk] IMPORTANT - Time Sensitive!!

Hi Everyone,

Dr. Stephen Purdy has asked AlpacaWatch to help with the collection of
samples from alpacas with the virus. They must have symptoms at the time
the swabs and blood are taken. He is testing to see is there is a
correlation between the respiratory "virus" and Chlamydia.

1. Sterile swab, inserted into the nose of affected animals. Place
each swab in an individually labeled zip loc bags. You may want to note
the severity of the symptoms: mild, moderate, severe

2. 5 ml blood samples in purple top tubes from the same animals.
Each must be labeled to match the corresponding swab.

The samples should NOT be refrigerated, but should be collected and
shipped express overnight mail the same day it was collected.

Samples must be obtained and shipped according to the time table below:

* Thursday, November 15th and shipped overnight.
* Monday, November 19th and shipped overnight
* Tuesday, November 20th and shipped overnight
* No samples will be accepted after Wednesday, November 21st

Please send samples to:

Stephen R. Purdy, DVM
111 North Maple Street
Hadley, MA 01035

Thank you,

Janet Morrow
