Re: [AlpacaTalk] Herdsire Issue of Alpacas Magazine

Yep, I got mine a couple of weeks ago, maybe even a month? I really
can't recall the exact timeframe, but it has been a while.

I'm sure AOBA will be happy to send one out to you right away if they
know you didn't receive yours.

[AlpacaTalk] Alpaca Research Foundation Super Stud Raffle!!

Hello everyone, here is the totally SWEET lineup of super studs for this years raffle.
Please, I am earnestly begging (yup, not too strong a word this year) you to take advantage of this once a year offer and support YOUR Alpaca Research Foundation.

Suri- Accoyo Montoyo!!!
Accoyo Montoyo is one of the most significant Suri herd sires in the United States. He has been a huge presence in the show ring and his genetics are in great demand. Judges consistently recognized Montoyo's typey head, presence, lock organization, and density. Since then, they have echoed this same praise in rings nationwide in appreciation of his offspring. Montoyo's ability to replicate his positive qualities is paramount to his success, and he is truly successful. Our assessment of his offspring has been validated by judges at highly competitive shows. Fifty percent of his offspring have been shown, earning 130 awards, including 77 Grand, Reserve, 1st and 2nds. Of Montoyo's offspring, 100% are Suri, 46% are colored, 25% are darker than their dams, and 16% are colored out of white dams. Ten of the ultra-rare fawn full Accoyos in the U.S. are out of Montoyo. His genetics are powerful and he will move your breeding program quickly in the right direction.
Thank you Ken and Trudy Halley for this generous donation.

Huacaya- 3Peruvian Royal Fawn!!!
Some would argue that no other alpaca in the country has had as much impact on the industry as PPPeruvian Royal Fawn. He is a full Accoyo male with a history of passing on his fine-fibered genetics to his 336 offspring. Consistent show winners and high sellers, his progeny boast 64 known champions and almost 190 blue ribbons in every solid color group.

Hand selected by the late Dr. Jim Vickers, Royal Fawn is the only light fawn Accoyo ever exported from Don Julio Barreda's herd. According to Julio Barreda, Royal Fawn ranked as one better than he had ever produced at Estancia Accoyo in Peru. PPPeruvian Royal Fawn was the 1999 and 2000 "Get-of-Sire" winner at the AOBA National Show, and record breaking highest selling male in alpaca history in October, 2005. He is the sire of Dom Lucilio, Double "O" Good's legendary male known as the Herdsire of Champions with 73 known champion and nearly 200 blue ribbon offspring.
Thank you David and Nancy Tenhulzen and Ernie and Barbara Kellogg for this super donation!

Tickets are on sale now, visit http://www.alpacaresearchfoundation.org and click on the Super Stud Raffle link. Ticket purchases are secure, and the drawing will be held at the AOBA conference this year.
Only $50, can you believe it? $50 for a chance to win a breeding that ordinarily could cost you $5,000. In these depressed economic times, this is a wonderful opportunity to jump start your genetics!!
ARF thanks the moderators of this site for the opportunity, yet again, to get the word out for our raffle- remember, 100% of all proceeds go directly to funding vital research that benefits everyone's alpacas.
