[AlpacaTalk] discussion groups

I have to say I'm very surprised by all of you. If you want
cookie-cutter stepford-wife don't-ask-untoward-questions "discussion"
groups, yes, there are plenty of others. But if any of you bothered to
read the description and purpose of this group, you wouldn't be upset
by the discussions here.

It may surprise you all to know that I invited Libby to join this group
just a month ago or so, when there was some other crap going on, and
she wrote to me asking for info. I then invited her to join.

My goal is complete openness and the dissemination of any information
that concerns any of us in this industry. Yes, I wish it was only how
to best care for my alpacas, but sometimes there are other issues which
require being brought into the light of day.

Information is power. To quote a favorite song, "The people have the
power." And the many should have the power in this industry, not just a
few. Another favorite quote of mine, "The good of the many outweighs
the good of the few or the one." I hope you will all keep this in mind.

Best regards,
Heather

Re: [AlpacaTalk] Let's recognize Heather's Shenanigans

Hi Aileen,
No, this is the right group. I don't over-moderate or censor. The
purpose of this group is to talk about ANYTHING that involves our
alpaca industry, from animal care to politics. Right now there is a
very important development in AOBA, and some, even many people are very
concerned about it. If there is no other venue to discuss it, it is
here, as the other groups are very closely controlled and moderated.

Welcome!
Heather

Re: [AlpacaTalk] Let's recognize Heather's Shenanigans

Ok, I deleted my previous reply because of a stupid typo/omission on my
part. But what my post said was basically:

Libby, let's not do that. You really don't have to right out lie. You
can see very well I have never made up stories. I never admitted to
fabricating anything. Are the things I said about specific people not
true? I have more info, I can go on. But right now I have to go out
and do chores. Linking small farms to disaster... what? You've lost me
there. Yes, this AOBA/ALC things stinks to high heaven, and I can't
wait to see how things turn out.

I won't follow you down the road you're on of name calling. I know
what I know, and while it is true that I can't see the future, I can
see what might very well happen, and the AOBA membership deserves more
control! End of story!

It's interesting, the more I post, the more people tell me. Different
people, not one party as you want to think. Someone told me last year
about Mike Safley's antics and why he is barred from holding office on
the AOBA board. Stachowski's act was all over AlpacaSite. I was and
still am shocked at the lengths he went to to try to get that fraud
completed. Step after step after step. Yet he's honest enough to serve
on the AOBA BOD and judge our alpacas? Good lord. Who owns the building
that AOBA leases for it's headquarters? Some might say that is a
conflict of interest.

Best regards,
Heather

Try that one. It has its pluses and minuses, but for overall info on alpacas, husbandry, etc. and lots of support from other breeders, it is very very good.
