[AlpacaTalk] In Need of Some Info

We bought a new place and will be moving around the end of October.  Most of the property we bought has been used as an alfalfa field.  So it is about 95% alfalfa and 5% grass and weeds.  We have been mowing and mowing the alfalfa every few days in an attempt to kill it or at least allow the grass to come up.  But it is not working.  It may be spring before we can do anything about the alfalfa unless we have someone come in and just plow it all under and dry lot the alpacas.  My question is what will this alfalfa do to the alpacas if they are allowed to graze on it?  I have always limited the amount of alfalfa my animals get.  But now that I have 4 acres of it to contend with I'm not sure what to do.  Thanks for any advice!

RE: [AlpacaTalk] Ohio teen pleads guilty, charged

I know this isn’t “new” news, but it still feels like a sucker punch in my stomach every time I read or think about it.  I will NEVER understand what possesses anyone to harm a defenseless animal……especially a baby alpaca.

I look at my little ones in the pasture, frolicking  with each other, occasionally running up behind the adults and leaping on them……….getting in SO MUCH trouble with the moms………it brings tears to my eyes to imagine anyone hurting these babies.

Something is seriously wrong with the mentality and I hope this one is locked up for a long while before he is let out on probation.  It sickens me to consider any of them getting away with this.

            Thanks for sharing.

I found this.

The other guy hit the alpaca first.  This one was trying to "put it out of it's misery".

Yeah right. He is eligible for probation......

Who can we write to so that we can put pressure on the DA and court/judge to give the maximum sentence?
