Re: [AlpacaTalk] Your fiber

Hi Peter,
Let me preface this post with the disclaimer that I know little about marketing and AFCNA so I am just sharing some thoughts and questions.

First and foremost I am delighted that you are being so pro-active about finding marketing possibilities.

I am wondering though about using high quality fiber ..blanket fiber for blankets that would be marketed under a name other than North American Alpaca. Using high end fiber for this venture seems to me to take away from the use of it as a garment which is known for its' softness, non-prickle factor and warmth.

I am wondering if this doesn't detract from usage and availability of high quality fiber for wearables.

I still feel that AFCNA is where all that fiber needs to go, but I am also interested in the process that you have so carefully and diligently nurtured with Pendleton.

So half of me states " way to go!" Kudos and heartfelt thanks for your efforts to open another door, the other half says...AFCNA get those people that have fiber stored away some help to pick and sort and get it immediately to AFCNA.

Sincerely,
Margie

Re: [AlpacaTalk] Your fiber

Yes, the lon-run idea if for them to purchase our fiber and then Pendleton
would be responsible for the marketing, and sales. Also, the lon-run idea
is that we could (if we want) purchase items from them at a discount for
either personal use or for our stores.
