Hi Peter :)

It seems that breeding principles are breeding principles regardless of the species :)
I carried my experience with horses and dogs to my cats. Its good to know that the same ideals will apply with the alpacas as well.
Our main goals are to produce animals with superior type and fiber for the show market. But we would be foolish to not invesstigate all options before we dive in :)

You probably have a better feel for the market than most alpaca owners. It
IS much the same as with most exotics. :) My brother has an advantage in
that the the Siberian cats have the "potential" of being hypoalergenic.
Testing has begun and on of his breeding females has the lowest algerin of
any tested cat. We, on the other hand, have strived for excellence in our
alpacas with emphasis on the fiber.
