I don't know anyone specifically but look on Alpaca Nation for shearers.I am sure several come threw.Most farms will let you bring a couple animals if you offer to lend a hand.It will cost more to get someone to come for 2 animals.Good luck!

Adopted our 2 alpacas 2 months ago. Called the gentleman who has done thier sheering in the past and he no longer does it. Anyone know a sheerer who will come to northern VA? It turns out most breeders will only help if you bought your alpacas through them. sigh.............

[AlpacaTalk] Sort-a-thon Announced for April in VA!

 

I am SO excited to be able to announce several sort-a-thons have been scheduled for 2013! CIABA, Certified Sorted Systems and Natural Fiber Producers have combined forces to continue to offer these events! And, the sort-a-thons are still $10.00 per blanket fleece. As I gather information about the events, I will post them here. So get your fleeces ready!! Until the forms are posted online, you can email me directly for the registration form and the form required for each fleece.

So, here is the first Sort-a-thon:

April 13th is the Fancy Fiber Fiesta in Surry, VA. To register for this event, send your registration form and payment to:

Checks should be made payable to LINDA LACHANSKI. On the memo line of your check, please write in the name or the place of the venue you are sending in payment for. This event would be FANCY FIBER FIESTA or SURRY, VA.

Once the forms are online, I will post a link here. Commercial buyers are lined up to purchase fleece and hand spinners have been invited to purchase as well.

Let me know if you have any questions and PLEASE, spread the word! Post on your Facebook accounts, let your friends know, let your local affiliates know! We need to get fiber into production and out of storage! Let's get some money back to the farmers!
