[AlpacaTalk] Seeking input on Alpacas

 

Hi - Heather was nice enough to let me join and post this message about the new Alpaca page on my website RightPet.

RightPet is an educational site which allows individuals to rate the breeds/species of animals they've owned, and recommend services/businesses they like. For Alpacas, users can rate attributes like appearance, temperament, growth rate, fiber quality, tolerance to heat/cold etc.. They also give an "overall" rating. The idea is that potential owners can read these ratings to help educate themselves and see if an animal is appropriate for them and what they want to use the animal for.  Rescues, clubs and suppliers can also be added.

It would be wonderful if some Alpaca Talk members could share their insights on what it's like to raise Alpacas. We're looking to gather thoughts on their strengths and challenges, what kinds of owners/purposes they are appropriate for etc.. 

To do a rating you would just go to the Alpaca page and click "submit a rating". It will ask you to join the site first but that is quick and doesn't ask much.
