Re: [AlpacaTalk] Thought I would likr to share this with you

Hmm. Funny, that's my sister's farm name, that she reserved with ARI
several years ago.

And please, did you miss the discussion on advertising? Not to
mention the basic rules of the group? No advertising, including
pasting your URL with no content in the post.

Finally, I did follow your link, and was met with a blank page.

Annoying.

Free Alpacas Newsletter- How to Profit from Alpaca Farming

Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: advertising

Hi Katy,
We did talk about that here a while back. I think it would be a fun
idea, and I also think there would need to be some limits and rules
regarding it. I would hate to see post after post from a certain farm
like what happened on Alpaca Market a few weeks ago. Boy was that
annoying, and I doubt if it was very successful for the poster!

So let's revive this topic and decide on some rules!

And I don't remember if I replied to Shirley's post, but I agree, ARF
does need all the support we can give it, and advertising the
herdsire auction is acceptable to me.

[AlpacaTalk] Re: advertising

Hi Heather,
Have you considered having one day a week only where advertisements are allowed? Some other groups handle it that way. Maybe you could try it for awhile and see if it works. Is there a day where the group is more quiet?

In my experience there are times when sharing certain information might be helpful to the members of this group but it also would be considered advertising so it goes unshared.

One of the reasons that I joined this group was becaue it didn't seem to be militant the way Alpacasite has become.
We all know there is AlpacaMarket and Alpaca Classifieds for our real ads. However if someone had been talking about the color genetics of their sire and a discussion had been going on, it would e nice if on a certain day that person could say, "I've been talking about Mr. Studley ARI#999** and you can view him at...." That would provide a more personal chat group, develop a greater sense of community imo.
My 2 cents. :)
