[AlpacaTalk] Re: Help with non-receptive female

My vet has suggested we get another ultrasound specifically looking at her ovaries and uterus, and get bloodwork to check her overall health.

One of the Prof. at OSU indicated that alpacas can, but not often have abnormal anatomy. The uterus may have one horn instead of two, only one ovary etc. In my opinion she would have to not have ANY ovaries to be completely unreceptive!

We are going to do a more in depth ultrasound and bloodwork, if everything is normal, I'm going to let her go until early Spring and try her again.

I'll keep you posted! Thanks for the help!

[AlpacaTalk] Healthfull Touch Workshops

Bluebird Hills Farm is pleased to host 2 Healthfull Touch Workshops on Saturdays, September 30th and October 14th. Both workshops are identical and will be given by Carmen Kolz who has years of experience with Healing Touch and applying it to pets and livestock. This workshop focuses on using touch to facilitate the use of Bio-Energy to heal and soothe animals. We will be working with several species including dogs, cats, alpacas, and horses.

Animals respond very well to Healthfull Touch which may: accelerate the healing of any type of wound or disease process; relieve pain, reduce anxiety, stress and behavioral problems; revitalize the whole animal (not just the area displaying symptoms); provide preventative support, strengthening all body systems; provide cleansing after medical treatments (anesthesia, radiation, chemotherapy); soothe allergies & skin problems; and support both the birthing and dying processes. The workshops will run from 10:00 to 3:30 and the cost is $65.

For more information contact either Laurel Shouvlin at bluebirdhills@voyager.net, or the instructor Carmen Kolz at: www.canineunderwatertreadmill.com . Maps to Bluebird Hills Farm as well as information on area attractions and hotels can be found at www.bluebirdhills.com
