[AlpacaTalk] Montana Rescue -donation update
Although some time has passed, the animals have been evacuated and most of us have forgotten the Montana rescue, I thought I would share with you a response from Tractor Supply to a request for help. It only took them 6 weeks to respond to our plea after 3 hours of filling out their application!
"Thank you for submitting this Product/Gift Card request to Tractor Supply Company. As I am sure you can imagine, we receive thousands of requests each year. In many cases these come from long-time, valuable customers, and they generally involve a cause that we would like to support. We simply can not support each one and must choose which ones will make the most impact and most responsible allocation of our limited sponsorship/donation funds.
Generally speaking, from the corporate level we sponsor and partner with FFA, the United Way, Progressive Agriculture Foundation's Farm Safety Day's and the AQHA. This has proven to be a very efficient way for us to distribute our sponsorship dollars throughout our trade areas and effective at connecting with our customer base.
Our local stores are encouraged to and often allow non-profit groups to partner with the store for fundraising opportunities at the store. Organizations often team up with stores to communicate their upcoming events and fundraisers to our customers as well. These are great opportunities that are readily available and are administers by local store managers.
Thank you for considering Tractor Supply Company to fulfill this need and we regret that we can not support this from the national level.
Sincerely,
Tractor Supply Company Sponsorship Team"
Very disappointing to know the abuse of 1,000's of farm animals and the subsequent rescue of just over 1,000 of those animals is not responsible enough for a donation. Huge sigh. The animals still need help.
