Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: Insurance
There are many farms that still work off the farm jobs and are covered by that. There was a thread on Alpaca Nation not to long ago covering this topic. I believe aomeone said that you can get insurance in some states through the Farm Buereu. Each state is different as far as cost and options go.
Lisa,
I'm guessing by your email your involved with birds. what kinds? I use to breed birds in the earlier stages of my disability but can't at this time.

Hi Suzanne,
I'll be anxiously watching for replies to your post!!! My BF and I
are in the same situation that you are...ready to make the 'big jump'
in 2006, yet worried about health insurance coverage/costs for the
same reasons you are.
I've written to NASE (National Association for the Self-Employed)
because they offer various health insurance products to small biz
members. IF the info comes in the next week or so, I'll be sure to
post some details. Their website offered minimal pricing info, other
than membership costs.
There have to be many folks in the same boat...what does everyone do
to affordably cover their healthcare needs?
