Re: [AlpacaTalk] grouply

No idea. I'm the only moderator/owner of the site, although I have
thought many times about adding more moderators. So far we're all very
nice and well behaved, so it hasn't been necessary! :)

When someone on our Weaving list received a message asking to be put into
Grouply.she asked for guidance and the List Administrator said that her
experience with Grouply was negative. That started a long discussion on the
weaving list and some folks said that Grouply had some awful spyware. I
don't know a Joanne and I got one of those as well.I said NO.

I don't know if that helps, but I'd not take the chance, especially when you
and I both don't know a Joanne personally.

RE: [AlpacaTalk] Beheaded Cria

Hi Chuck,

I agree.the sentence was probably intended to inform the list that the
reward is to repay whoever first identifies the perpetrator and makes an
arrest possible.

At least, that is for what I remember it was being collected. This incident
is the sort of event that needs to be followed until the criminal is
apprehended. Such violence is frequently a precursor of future violence
aimed at humans..

I was taught in judge school that sometimes serial killers make a steady
diet of violence against animals to sustain them between doses of violence
against other human beings. Neither is acceptable, of course, .but it is a
frighteningly good indicator of a person whose violent tendencies will not
be sated by a single incident of bloodlust.

I'm a bit concerned about something that Michael said in his post (see
below):

"If you have a dollar or two that you could send I know the Wards would
appreciate this and the money will eventually be paid to the person(s) who
did this".

Surely, the reward money isn't going to the person(s) who did this???

I hope that there are just a few words missing from that sentence.

[AlpacaTalk] Cria update and more questions!!!

Hey guys!!

Quick update, our little girl, Little Gracie, is doing very well. She's eating from mom all the time now, and is getting bigger every day.

So... I've posted worming questions before, and I have yet another. A girlfriend of mine wormed her alpacas orally with injectable Ivermectin. She didn't use the oral paste, she used the liquid injectable orally. Is this acceptable as far as worming goes? It this something others out there are doing as well? Any ill effects with this?

Re: [AlpacaTalk] Beheaded Cria

Hi everyone...

The reward fund in this case is still active and we're still soliciting
contributions in the hope that we can raise the total reward offered
(including the ASPCA [$2,500] and Animal Defense Fund [$500] contributions)
to $10,000. Hitting the $10,000 mark would likely garner another round of
attention and exposure through the WI media.

We need around $1,200 to reach $7,000 and make a "total" reward fund of
$10,000.

Contributions in any amount are accepted:

Paypal: jess@acresoflove.com
Credit card: Call Cookie at 918-327-3519
Personal check or money order: Payable to "Alpaca Reward Fund", Send to
address below.

We'll keep the fund and the reward offering alive until the beginning of
next year. If there have been no leads or claimants by that time we will be
contacting each donor to determine their desired disposition of their
contribution... donation to ARF in your name, donation to Tana Ward in your
name or return to the contributor.

Thank you to everyone who has helped in this effort.
