Re: [AlpacaTalk] New Thread + AFCNA clip

Hi Allison,

I'm not an AFCNA member, so I have no information for you. I did look at the site a couple of days ago for some reason, and saw that Greg Schneider is now the president. I'm sure he, or any other board member, can give some info.

Hi List,

Your post, Heather, about fiber micron reports, got me to thinking.  Does anyone know if AFCNA is going to want its fiber put up the same way as last year or are there changes to what is required.  I'm madly skirting and I'm also wondering about getting it all packed up and sent off.  I don't want to be behind the eight ball on getting it ready and shipped in a timely fashion.  I have all last year's to put in also as I'd broken a shoulder and could not do it last season…so I have "lots" to get done and I want to do it right and only once!

Any information or ideas?  AFCNA website h as only the info on the 2008 clip…no update yet.

Allison

[AlpacaTalk] Re: worming with horse ivermectin paste

Hi June, Just like with the alpacas did you do a fecal on your horse? No
need to worm any animal unless you have a problem, this just builds
resistant parasites and we don't have many options if these little
creatures get stronger than anything we have to kill them with, not sure
if giving injectable ivo orally , but I do know that they pulled
injectable ivo from horse usage years ago. Quite a few animals died from
the injection. I am also not sure about using the paste on the alpacas
maybe try to contact Dr. Ruthann McCaslin, DVM at
blackalpaca@hotmail.com she will be more than happy to answer your
questions.

need some info, I just recently broke down and used the jeffers
ivermectin horse wormer on my horses ;( with a very wet spring and an
older mare it was needed this year. My question, i have ivermec 'd the
alpacas by mouth for over 10 years(injectible) could i use this wormer
instead seeing its readily available as a occasional one time deal to
keep up with the natural way i've been worming. TIA
