Re: [AlpacaTalk] The future

We will have to start looking at the fiber industry. In 5 or so years we should have enough alpacas here in the U.S. So if we breed better and better fiber then why would we not be compittion for S.A.

I am just curious what you think about the future of alpacas. In say 10-
15 years do you think those buying alpacas will be newbies or just the
regulars expaniding thier herd? Will their primary source of income be
the fiber one day because we have maxed out with quanity of alpcas thus
drivning the price down? I am new so I want to determine the best
future plane. Like keep my ciras, sell them or perhpas sell the fe,ales
and buy new ones. Oh so much.

RE: [AlpacaTalk] Canadian Vs US Reg

ARI or Double registered is what I meant. I have several double registered
alpacas. But I would not want just Canadian registered alpacas

Hi,

The parents of that female are probably Dual Registered. That would mean
they are registered BOTH in Canada and with ARI.

In order to register an alpaca with ARI - BOTH parents must be registered
with ARI. So if one or both parents are only Canadian registered - you will
NOT be able to register the cria with ARI. This is not always explained
properly to new buyers. Understand what you can and can't do for
registrations with your alpacas before making any purchases. You want only
ARI registered alpacas if you are going to be breeding showing and selling
alpacas.

Good luck,

Shari Pritchard

I am so confused about the registration. I am looking at a female she
is ARI but her parents are Canadian. Is that possable? Also, if the
Canadian alpacas are cheaper and have good confirmation does it pay to
buy Cnadain? And register thier cria ARI?
Is thier a feedback page? So I can determine how farms deal with other
sales?
