Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: hit and run posts
Hi Michael and everyone,
Well, I'm over it. I did feel personally insulted, but I'm over that,
too. I know I'm very blunt, and that is off-putting to some (many?).
As far as my screening skills go, I don't wish to limit membership or
discussion by not allowing members... So I've put together some
messages that are sent to those who request to join, which includes
the rules and a note on how to make sure your membership is approved.
LIke I said, I am pretty lenient. Requests do have to include name
and at least some reference to raising alpacas, or *something* that
shows an interest in them or fleece...
Heehee, I won't tell anyone you needle felt! Have you tried wet
felting? That works off a lot of steam, let me tell you! Sitting down
to the spinning wheel forces one to become quiet, too. I'm a very new
spinner, and at this stage it takes a lot of concentration and focus,
so that's good therapy.
I hope we can all move on from this past hiccup. I will be editing
those rules pretty soon to include the thing about not posting "Go
look at my web page" type of links in message posts.
Stay warm, everyone!
Heather
