RE: [AlpacaTalk] A new organization???
Hi Lists, Susan,
Yes, we are all concerned, but we are OK for the moment.
I just looked at where AOBA BODmembers might be today. I think some are at
shows.even judging them. I think others are, at this time of day, out
cleaning pastures and feeding stock. Some might be running errands not done
during the week. I don't expect every phone.or any phone to answer just
because I called it.
This BOD is not a conspiring set of actors. I doubt they have even had time
to communicate with one another about changes now occurring. Those in the
ring may not even yet be aware.as they are not where there is a computer
right now.
Let this BOD have 48 BUSINESS hours before castigating them. Let them have
time to learn what is happening, react, meet, decide and then respond.
Nothing is magic here.real governance take TIME.
I don't want just any knee jerk stampeded answer. I want some responses
that are well thought out and well reasoned. I don't want a stampede.
We don't need to factionalize this industry. Right now, we need time to
negotiate a united front. We have outside challenges to meet.not just those
within the industry. Running around chopping heads is not a good way to
deal with these challenges. Everyone needs to take a "chill pill" long
enough for folks to have time to do what they must do.
Respectfully,
Allison Moss-Fritch

Jennifer:
Before this time, I have always remained fairly quiet re: anything
political. Don't like politics so usually just stay quiet until I
get so riled up that I try to stop the fighting, falling flatly on my
face. this time, I'm being much more vocal.
I agree with you that there is still just too much information left
unknown. I would hope that whatever wounds are around can be
adequately licked, heal over, and just a memory remaining of how it
happened. I want and NEED AOBA to remain strong and to stick to the
agenda of the group.......
AOBA, not a few who we might now think are pursuing their own
personal goals.....or so it seems at the current time. Again, I have
no idea of what is going on and can only speculate, in a very broad
sense, based on the little info in Scott's resignation. Which simply
boils down to, "I don't know nothin'" and suspect very nearly
everyone else is in the same boat.
That said........
the board hears that we want some answers. We want to know just what
is going on and the sooner the better. I cannot continue to support
a board that isn't posting minutes, uses verbage that they surely
know has the potential to upset much of the membership, has rapid
resignations without full disclosure as to 'why', and disbanding
groups that allow for increased member input, etc........it just has
a very bad odor to it and we, the membership, are entitled to
answers. WE gave them their jobs and therefore are entitled to know
what they're doing. And if they want our continued support, I, for
one, cannot give that blindly under the present set of
circumstances. Help me help you!
Okay, now if anybody DOES know what's happening, please email me
privately. As I said, I tend to shy away from politics and AOBA is
no different to me in that sense. But I do feel that a couple of
well placed informational emails would do the org well......
