Okay, I DID find it! I am posting info here in case someone else was in the 'huh?' zone that I was in.
a.. It is all in the semantics. No buying and selling of a group occurs.

a.. How do I unsubscribe and remove myself as a group moderator or owner? How do i make somebody else the group owner? Group moderators and owners can't unsubscribe from a group without first relinquishing moderator privileges. If you are the group owner, you must appoint another owner before you are allowed to unsubscribe. This policy is enforced so that no group is without an owner.

To give up your moderator privileges:
1.. Go to the Moderators list within the Members page of your group.
2.. Click on the Edit link near your email address / Yahoo! ID.
3.. Click on the Remove Moderator button. At this point, you will become a regular member. You can then unsubscribe yourself.
If you are a group owner, you must first transfer ownership to another moderator of your group. When you click Remove Moderator, you will be given the option to select a moderator. If there are no other moderators, you will not be able to remove yourself. Contact some of your most trusted members to see who would like to take over as owner. After you've found someone, you can remove yourself as group owner, relinquish your moderator privileges, and finally unsubscribe from the group.
If you choose not to transition your group to another owner, you may delete the group entirely.
