FW: [AlpacaTalk] Re: AOBA and unsubscribing

Heather,

Here's my understanding of Alpacasite ownership. Tim and Cindy Lavan
started Alpacasite back in the mid 90's. They sold the site to Libby and
Jerry Forstner. Libby and Jerry then got John Pinkowski to act as moderator
of Alapcasite while they still owned it. When John quite because of threats
of lawsuits between Eric Hoffman and Ken Madl over what was being posted;
Libby and Jerry got Rick Horn to agree to be Moderator. According to Libby
and Jerry as of April 2004 they were still the owners of both Alpacasite and
Alpacapolitics. I don't know if they still own it today but they did in
2004. I was told the above by Libby and Jerry themselves.

I and others have tried to find out exactly who does own the sites these
days to no avail. Yahoo groups won't say a word. Their lips are sealed…

I think your perspectives as a moderator are exactly what's needed in the
industry… Keep up the great work!

All the best,

I have said and will always say that we have the right and
responsibility to ask questions, and to question what we disagree with.
We have the right to voice dissatisfaction, we have a right to say so
when something pisses us off, we have a right to say so when something
looks rotten. I say we have the responsibility to speak out!

I think the more this issue is talked out, the more we'll understand
it. I don't care to have to join Rick Horn's groups. I don't think Rick
Horn needs to control everyone.

I started this group when John Pinkowski shut down AlpacaSite, then
Rick weaseled his way into ownership of that group, after having been
an alpaca owner for maybe a year. Now Rick sees fit to tell people what
to say and what to think on AlpacaSite. I will not be such a moderator.
I think we have the right to say what we think and feel. If it upsets
some people, well, that's the price we pay for freedom of speech.

Everyone doesn't have to agree with my thoughts or feelings, I don't
have to keep silent when I think something isn't right.

Yes, this group is for helping our fellow breeders with alpaca
husbandry issues, but it is also for the discussion of everything else
that concerns our alpaca industry. And I won't change that.

Best regards,
Heather
