Re: [AlpacaTalk] best Fencing
Hi Scott!
Thanks for the info.
I am still a ways off from purchasing. So I am taking my time getting
educated.
I have race horses in KY and am hoping that my 2009 foal crop will give me
substantial funds to start my herd of alpacas.
I am thinking of starting with 3 really good quality bred female, keeping
the best female baby to add to my program. Selling the other 2.
I have recently been offered 3 females for very reasonable money. I am going
to KY next week to look at them. Its a herd dispersal from a farm whos owner
has passed away. I am not sure what I will find when I get there. They may
only be pet quality. All I know is there are 3 females aged 2-4 and one that is
5. Alteast 2 are black.
Are there better colors? More popular colors?
Is there a place for good looking females even if the pedigree is not
strong? I mean in race horses we might breed something with a fair pedigree to
something really commercial and still end up with a really nice foal.
