Heather - the back leg vein is SO easy - I won't draw from the jugular. What I do is at shearing, I get the tubes for the blood, while the alpaca is down for shearing I just get a syringe and draw from the leg vein. Try it, you'll never do it any other way. It saves you a TON of money on BVDV tests, pregnancy tests, etc.
