[AlpacaTalk] RE: Bottle Baby Kids - Carolyn

<<<< Hi,.......me Carolyn or another? I've seen the posts on this topic on
AlpacaTalk. I early on used diluted goat milk, but have since found
that ordinary Vit. D milk with added whipping cream works great and is
readily
available. Have fed several over the years using this. They seem to
like it and do well, growing well and maintaining healthy beans.

Carolyn Marquette,>>>

Sorry Carolyn, there was another Carolyn who posted here about bottle
feeding goat kids - and then apologized for posting to the wrong
group.....but she sure did get a heated discussion going lol.

I don't know if she is a regular poster here or not, I didn't recognize
her addy.
I'll send that post to her privately just in case she is not a regular here.

I had posted my take on the question was to use goat's milk for bottle
feeding goat!
It is readily available in pretty much any grocery store. My only
complaint about it would be that it is "ultra-pateurized" which means
dead. So for the crias I would go with the cow milk which everyone
seems to have good luck with. I hope to never have to bottle feed
another alpaca!

Always good to see you post; hope your trip was good and I appreciate
you taking the time when you were in such a rush to offer advice to my
friend. I hope his girl is doing better by now, she was making some
improvement; but haven't heard in a while, so I can't help but worry.

Warmly, Janice
