Re: [AlpacaTalk] DE

There was no one living in the house.  My dog walked in and out of it while I was working on putting the place back together, with no effects after it was sprinkled out.

I left it on the carpets for over two weeks, then vacuumed it up.  You do not leave it down.  I used my shop vac, with a hose on the exhaust side, running out side, so as to not spread that very fine dust around inside the house.  Cleaned the vac filter several times also.

I think Jim was speaking about carpeting in a house or apartment though and you can't use pool grade d.e. where are you going to keep cats, it is poisonous to them.

You can use animal/food grade to sprinkle, but it is more pricy.  The animal grade is edible and can assist in controlling the internal parasites in your animals.  The "swimming pool filter" type or the non-food grade just should not be ingested…but is fine for pest management sprinkling.
