Re: [AlpacaTalk] DE

I have no intentions of feeding any DE to my herd.  I was only trying to help others.

Guess it didn't work

The DE for pests worked just fine for getting rid of the fleas.

Jim - the pool grade is poisonous to animals, so I would not use it where someone plans on keeping animals in the future. Also, if the flea infestation is bad, a flea bomb or spray that kills eggs is your best bet.

Did you know there are different grades of DE?  One is animal grade, and one other is for putting down as pest control.  They are not interchangeable.  I needed some for a major flea infestation left for me by some trash 'renters' that I kicked out.  The feed store tried to sell me the feed grade and told me it would work for the pests.  I did know that was not the case, so went to another store. There might be a third grade too.
