[AlpacaTalk] Sick Cria Update
Our little guy made it through the night. He is still weak, still drinking water. Walking around a bit very wobbly. He finally pooped some last night after the 3rd water enema. It was several large beans. Now he has a little touch of diarrhea I am guessing from the Karo Syrup. I am supplementing with milk, yougart and a touch of cream. He takes it and swallows well. I am hoping for some improvement in his energy level this afternoon. I have him on Colloidal silver 3x a day which is a holistic antibacterial anti-viral. I am avoiding the vet because the vet previously has been very expensive and the outcomes have not been good. Last year we had a little cria that developed pneumonia, she was put on Naxcel and was gone the next morning, she didn't even look or act that sick she just had a tiny cough. Our little cria two years ago cost a fortune and they just wanted to put her down. I am happy to say she is a very happy healthy two year old now. I do call the vet when I think they can assist. We had a girl with a bad labor and had the vet come out and check her to make sure all was OK after the birth, she was on banamine and antibiotic for a week after delivery. I don't want you to think I would never use a vet but I am learning their weaknesses and hate the 2 grand vet bills.
