[AlpacaTalk] signs of labor

Hi Folks:

I'm feeling a bit foolish, but I've got a girl that just doesn't feel right to me. She's 357 days and for the most part looks normal and okay, but there's something I can't put my finger completely on that doesn't feel right with her. She's eating, then cushes in 'her spot', drinks, and is rail flicking a lot. This girl is also a maiden.  I don't know if she's in labor or not. She has hummed a little (she's not usual vocal) and I've seen her yawn several times since early afternoon. Otherwise, she doesn't seem in any distress. She did go to the poo pile and poo-ed and peed then went to another pile and started to 'assume the position', but not fully. It's almost 8:30 here and going to get dark. I'm going to grab a bite for myself and then go halter her and check her, but beyond that, I haven't a clue as to what to do or know what's going on....Any thoughts out there? I hate to call the vet since I don't know what I'd say........could this be early signs of trouble? early signs of labor? Or am I just plain nuts!?

Thanks,
Susan
