[AlpacaTalk] Opinions, please....
Hi Folks:
I'm supplementing the cria that was born about 26 hours ago and have used up a 12 oz. bottle of bovine colostrum. I have another 12 oz in the freezer and no more crias due this year. What are some opinions on two things....first, keeping the colostrum frozen and using it next summer (if the need arises) even though it will be more than a year old OR second, going ahead and feeding it to this year's cria that will likely need supplementation for at least another day or two? I doubt that she will get many of the antibodies from it (if any), but I have it and she seems to like it. Since it came from Useful Llama, it was expensive (shipping was, anyway) and I'd hate to just throw it away......and not sure about using after a year from when I bought it in late April.
Thanks!
Susan
