Re: [AlpacaTalk] Let them eat cake.Libby responds

Heehee, good one Gary! Well said!

Yes, I'm sure almost everyone is very personable, in person. I know I
try to be, and oftentimes, I don't even have to try! :)

But yes, those of us who are living on strict and tight budgets are
extremely frustrated that we CAN'T participate in these high priced
marketing programs, and that it costs us so much more, for example to
buy leads, old leads.

I'm reminded of an old Sunday school story, I think it was a Sunday
school story. Anyway, the king has his offerings delivered for some
religious holiday, gold and silver, bushels and bushels of the finest
delicacies, finest wines, silk.. all the best of the best. Then a
little old woman, very poor, gives her offering, which was one small
coin (a sheckel I think). Sorry if I'm bungling the Bible story! So one
man who was at the mass said to the priest that surely the king will
get to heaven with all of his offerings, but what about that poor old
woman? The priest replied, she will get to heaven more surely than the
king, as she has given a much higher percentage of her wealth than the
king.

So while I am obviously not a religious person (could you tell?), this
is along the lines of my kvetching about AOBA and all the high fees.
When someone tells me that those people who pay the $1500 or $5000 for
the benefactor program with AOBA are simply being generous, I have to
strongly disagree. They are receiving consideration for that money, for
things which are not available to those us who either cannot or choose
not to spend our money that way.

I'm not jealous or angry that some people have more money and means,
what I'm angry and bitter about is that "they" set up AOBA to benefit
only those who also have money and means, and make us little guys pay
more! Regressive pricing scheme. Unfair. And I mean it is not a fair
system, not just "It's not fair!"

And to those who might say that this type of conversation might drive
away investors in alpacas... I think they have a right to know.
