[AlpacaTalk] RE: Beet Pulp

<<Hi Janice,

It's been a while, glad to hear all is well. Your pup on the flax, many
dogs have an allergy to it, none of mine do, but try a tablespoon(med to
large dog) of Apple Cidar vinager daily in his food or water, it repels
fleas and the coats are lovely.

Thanks June,
All really has been well here now for a while, thank goodness. No
emergencies, no health problems, etc. I had to turn my fragmented
attention elsewhere for a while and missed reading this list. I try to
check in as often as possible.

I am horrified to think that the flax seed I have been giving my dog may
be the cause of his skin/coat problems - egads/horrors!

I will take him off today and see how it goes, and will start adding the
apple cider vinegar. Thanks for the tip. The cooler weather has helped
a lot, at least no more hot spots, but his hair just will not grow back
to its former splendor.

And thanks Karen for the info about Stillwater minerals. I will check
into those. Money being what it is these days (non existent) I will
need to find a cheaper source as.....drum roll.....the pacas ALL ate
EVERY bite of their beet pulp laced with minerals this morning, along
with their pellets. Yippee!

Cherry trees gone, and minerals being eaten. Maybe I will actually get
a full term baby that lives this coming year. Oh, gee, I just
remembered, I still need to follow up on BSE and something else
mentioned to me during this discussion earlier this year. I need to go
back and find those posts (I have filed away) and get on dealing with
those possibilities. My oh my, always something. Currently, being a
farmer and all, I have been up to my eyeballs in harvesting the last of
the green beans, okra, peppers, etc before the freezes came in last
week, drying apples like mad, getting in 200 more strawberry plants this
past week and trying to keep alive the 70 new blueberry bushes I planted
this year....in the middle of our awful drought.

Warmly, Janice in GA
