[AlpacaTalk] RE: alpaca treats

Mine love figs and apples - but also love the leaves off these trees.
They can reach one apple tree from their pasture and keep it stripped.
There is a fig tree in their pasture - needless to say I don't get any
figs off that tree. When I am picking figs (from my other tree) I will
offer them the ones the birds or bees have damaged and they line up at
the fence watching for me to walk over with that little goodie. They
nibble it gently from my hand. But what they really love is privit.
They get all the branches I prune and they keep the ones in their
pasture stripped. They even stand up on their back legs to reach the
high up leaves. Another favorite is garden weeds. They line up at
the fence when they see me weeding as I put all the weeds in a large
bucket and dump it periodically over the fence.....where they all go
nuts diving into the pile, along with the chickens.
Fun.
