Re: [AlpacaTalk] Alpaca Treats
Judith,
You are probably right!
When the need arises, my alpacas love alfalfa and shredded beet root (not so much for treats as for added nutrition). Essentially, however, they do fine on grass and hay. Hay can be challenging, in some seasons. Let's hope for a good hay season this year.
Our alpacas hate the needles, regardless of what we do. Gave 49 shots yesterday, without a single bruise, though.

Probably to get the taste of all that nasty crap they eat out of their mouths. ;-)As for feeding alps treats, Dave, I love the way even my crankiest old preggo morphs into a sweet-tempered little beggar when I bring out the carrots. I use them sparingly, but I use them as a teaching aid - it teaches them that I'm not just a b*tch with a needle. :-)Judith KorffLadySong FarmMusic to Your WalletRandolph, New York 14772Cell: (716) 499-0383
