| Our pacas love apples-just be sure to cut them up for them as we had one who had a pretty bad choke on a piece of apple. On the other hand, our girls got into our fruit orchard last Fall and were eating pears. It was lots of fun watching them take bites from the pears on the ground and on the branches and no choking at all. I have also given them horse treats made from carrots but they are big pieces that need to be smashed by a hammer (lots of work to be gobbled up in seconds) Their favorite is still alfalfa hay..they can smell that a mile away.
