I do not think that AOBA should, or can, try to be the lead for all parts of the alpaca industry. The show system does not reflect the needs of the fiber users. Look at the wool industry, this elementary tie is made. The top "stud" is the best and given blue ribbons because he gives traits that are desired by the product user.
If AOBA is to lead a show system so out of touch with any other part of the alpaca industry, then perhaps they should stick to shows and quit pretending to provide leadership in any other venue. However, I do not want to be the one to try and make another "AOBA" for what is becoming the larger part of our industry, our fiber.
