Ian,

 

Libby is a wise person in many ways.

She does not let the heat of the moment over ride her understanding that the bylaws forbid Board interaction with the election…no matter how well meaning.

 

That power is vested ONLY in the Nominating Committee.

 

The correct move for the BOARD would have been to appoint a new committee.

 

A wise BOARd might want to create a very open record in its notes explaining what the heck interfered with the old committee badly enough to cause a mass resignation.
