RE: [AlpacaTalk] Recent AOBA activities

Well…we the membership can and should request that BOD speak publically and present a forum for the NC that resigned to do so also….

We need, but no BOD has had the strength to give us…attorney drawn, clean bylaws.

We need a totally separate autonomous system for elections…and no communication interference form the BOD, directly or indirectly…and a place to post publically any such abuses received by anyone involved in the election process, whether committee or candidate or voter.  Nothing like a lot of daylight to clean up an infection.

I also find it amusing but in a rather depressing way, that a former inspector of elections is lamenting what has transpired. This from that same person who "accidentally" dispose of all ballots so that a recount could not be performed.

What a joke.

Aoba IS NOT completely broken…it is in need of great transparency and there is a need for certain members of the board to account for their actions.

According to the bylaws…” The form of the statement and its distribution to the Membership shall be established by the Nominating Committee, which shall decide any question of compliance with standards that the committee may establish with respect to such form.”

Something or someone who was in a position to do so---but was not allowed by the bylaws to do so---stopped that from happening.  The NC could not move forward.

As a voting member of AOBA, I sure would like  a report from the BOD about who and how that was done…and how it occurred, since the bylaws are clear that ONLY the NC has the right or duty to “distribute” and for some reason was not able to do so. I might add that only the NC is given the duty to create a Statement (of Disclosure) from candidates…and only the NC  “Shall decide any question of compliance with standards that the COMMITTEE may establish with respect to such form”  ---and somehow that was also interfered with…

One might want to ask who controlled access to the AOBA eblast member list?

Who was in position to control whether the committee could publish the form and who was or was not in compliance with the standards?

Questions like that would be a good start..

One might then be curious about why someone wanted/needed/ was served/ by such interference.
