[AlpacaTalk] alpaca foot
Hello. We had something happen here yesterday that I haven't heard mentioned before. We were out checking to see who might need a nail trim. When getting one of the boys in position, he decided to not be cooperative. Next to the overhang off the barn, we have had chipboard nailed to posts to give them extra shelter/protection from the winter elements. Somehow, he got his foot caught. It was kind of scary and a tense few minutes until we got him loose. We were afraid he would try and pull it out himself and cause serious injury to himself. We did get him loose within a couple of minutes. He stayed pretty calm during the whole ordeal. We kept an eye on him for awhile and he seemed to be walking fine on his foot.
We will definitely keep an eye on him for the next few days. Any suggestions on the things we should be watching for that would indicate that there was some kind injury to the foot (other than the obvious limping, not putting weight on it)?
Thanks for your input.
