I do want parentage verification since I do in fact register all crias. What I don't like is having to wait so long for the results. Without getting into all the reasons that cause delays in parentage verification, I really want and need BVDV test results faster than several weeks. If my ONLY reason for testing was to meet the AOBA SD requirements I'd be fine with their turnaround time. That is a great idea, but what if you want the BVD done by them AND you plan to sell them. Can you send in the blood card without registering them? I love the idea of not having to stick them! I have micro chips waiting to be done and can't bring myself to do it. My vet will do if for me next time she is out. She is great about giving shots that I have ready for her and doesn't charge me. Considers it part of the farm visit. She will also give rabies shots to the dogs…..love that, too!

The crias have little veins and wiggle too much. I usually stick myself too. I try to do all of mine at birth using the cord blood from the placenta.
