Yes, Janice - llamas are no match for a couple of aggressive stray dogs or a mountain lion, but they will definitely chase off a few coyotes. Ours runs straight up to the fenceline, "hooting" her weird alarm call and that usually scares off any predator. Or I hear the alarm call and go out there. Between Sammy our guard llama (a female) and our hotwire at the top and bottom of our alpaca fence, I sleep very well at night. SUSAN OLSON Alpaca Loco Riverside, CA
