[AlpacaTalk] RE: new cria

<<<Thanks for the advice Janice. I don't know what it is about rain and
especially real hard rain. When my girls where killed by dogs, it was
storming bad here and that's why we couldn't here my american bulldog
barking until it stopped raining. She is in a pen outside of the
pasture, but she can see in the pasture and lets us know if anything is
amiss. I guess dogs, foxes and coyotes don't care about storms.>>>

I think they must realize that all us humans are hunkered down inside
leaving them a wide open opportunity! I certainly did not want to go
out in the pouring rain the other night, but am oh so glad I did. I go
out just about every night these days for my walkabout to let my
presence be known.....but not in the rain!
Congrats again; I am so happy for you that you were able to back into
alpacas and that your first cria was a GIRL. Unbelievable. I've had
alpacas for 10 yrs and only got a girl baby early this year - my first
female cria.
Warmly, Janice in NW GA
