[AlpacaTalk] Re: smelly yard
Hello Lysa-two things come to mind and one with a very high caution. Taking from deer hunters there is a product that you can purchase that is sprayed on the clothes to mask odor. You can purchase this in gallon containers from any sporting goods store - best prices - Gander mountain, Cabela's. Just spray thi son the poo piles and it eliminates odor on contact.
The second is a caution about LIME. There are two types used for odor control, one a hydrolized lime and the other limestone. The first is the caution. Should you get this in an eye, before you can wash it out it will permanently cause severe eye damage as a young fellow in Wisconsin learned a few years ago. Upon contact with the eye, the mousture activates it and it acts like an acid. Washing only magnifies the effect. If you use limestone however, should you get that in an eye it is like a grain of sand - irritating until removed and might have minor scratching.
