Re: [AlpacaTalk] toe trimmers...which ones?

Hi Caryn,

We use the small "magic toe shears", the ones for $19.95. The other ones are far too big and cumbersome. Many small, local feed stores carry them, as sheep and goat farmers use them to trim their animals' feet as well. They are also at Jefferslivestock.com for $17.95, and at valleyvet, com for $19.95 with free freight, however at valleyvet you must order at least $60 worth of merchandise or they charge a $6 fee.

Hello all,

Well, the time has nearly arrived! We decided on three lovely fiber
boys, our very first alpacas, and they'll be arriving at their new
home Saturday, July 11th. So we're prepping for our new buddies!

One of the last things on my list to get are toenail trimmers. I tried
to find them at two different farm and feed places in my area and
neither carried them, so I'm taking the suggestion of a nearby alpaca
owner and ordering them online.

I don't know which ones to get, though. I took a look at the web site
she suggested and there are a few "toe shears"...are those the same
thing? Does anyone have a suggestion on which ones to buy?

Here's the listing on the site I think she recommended:

Thanks for any help!
