Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: Bone Tumor: Update
Hi Dave,
Very interesting article on Dr. Anderson. I had to look up what a polymath is :) Yes, he sounds like the go-to guy.
I was going to mention what happened when I got home, but forgot. I opened the gate to the trailer, Brandie was kushed, I told her we were home and she could get out now. She turned her head to look back, then got up, and came down the ramp. Melody came running over to her, spitting!! Maybe three hours in alpaca time, is a long time!! Thought that was interesting. Melody kept it up for a bit, even seemed to shoulder Brandie. One of the geldings in another field came running up to the fence too.
An internist, to become a doctor? ( I know, dumb question! ) That is one of the occupations, along side being a vet, that I dont think I could do. I would take it very personally to loose a person, and more than likely, more so to loose an animal.
Thanks again!

Hi Jim,
I'm glad to hear that you are cautiously optimistic about your girl. If
there is anyone I'd trust, it would be Dr. David Anderson. The man is
what I'd term a true polymath. A number of years ago, I delivered an
address to the National Conference, extolling the many virtues of Dr.
Anderson. He was, amongst his many other talents, the first orthopedist
to perform the surgery allowing a kangaroo (!) to be fitted with an
artificial limb. I was able to see a video of "Stumpy", as the kangaroo
was called. Amazing! David's mastery of veterinary medicine, when I
researched it for my talk, was astounding. I am an internist, working
in the E.R., so I can appreciate David's talents. Check out this
article on him.

Good luck with your Brandie.
Dave
