I was the first farm to use the name "West Wind" with AOBA, starting
back in 2001. I registered the domain name "westwindalpacas.com", and I
registered a few alpacas with "West Wind" without reserving that as my
breeder id, until I saw a new farm in Illinois also using that farm
name. I then reserved "West Wind" with ARI. However, there are now
three other farms using "West Wind" or "West Winds" as their farm name.
Including the one in Illinois, there is one in New York and now one in
Virginia. So, I have abandoned my use of that as my farm name and have
chosen a new one, White Lotus Alpacas, reserving "white Lotus" as my
new breeder Id and whitelotusalpacas.com , and westwindalpacas.com is
for sale! :)

That's how I dealt with it. Hopefully no one will choose to use White
Lotus as their alpaca farm name. As I said, I reserved White Lotus with
ARI, and WLA has already been reserved many years ago. I believe W L A
was also reserved, and has long since ceased to exist, so I have no
current "competition" for that naming.
