RE: [AlpacaTalk] Re: PS: Advertising Discussion
I could live with this a lot easier than the "flood my mailbox once a week"
idea.
Thanks for the idea, Elisabeth.

Hi group,
I also think it's a great idea to LIMIT the advertising, there are
other groups for that. However, like Janice and others... I would
like to have a centralized place to see our member products and all
events.
My suggestions/
1- Use the "Calendar" section (already available in this group but
not used) to promote ALL alpaca related EVENTS, seminars, auctions
and shows... whether they be AOBA or specific farm events.
2- Use the "Database" section (already available in this group but
not used) to list member PRODUCTS whether they are fiber products,
books, or anything else that would be of use to other members... or
as Janice worded it "any inventive and creative alpaca related
products any of us have developed". Maybe members could also add
products they "recommend" even if they aren't their own criations?
3- Send ONE weekly reminder (from the moderator) so all new members
would know to look in the Database and Calendar for that type of info
instead of allowing all members to "repeat" their adds on a regular
basis.
4- If we want comments on the pros & cons of a specific product or
even an event, the forum Messages could then be the place for those
discussions ;)
This way the info on our "member products & events" would always be
available for consultation.
their "weekly" ad in would not be penalized... and the members will
not receive multiple emails of the same ads or events.
Thanks
