Re: [Alpacasite] Waterer
Well, we've not tried this waterer, but I have an opinion.... :)
I'd be surprised if alpacas did well with this type of waterer, although
it'd sure be convenient for us humans. Remember, alpacas will almost
never break through even the thinnest ice with their noses in order to get
to water. I'd guess that this is because they're semi-obligate nasal
breathers, and any pressure on their noses compromises their ability to
breathe. (Same reason that proper halter fit's so important.) Given the
choice between breathing and water, I'd bet on breathing.
This said, has anyone else out there actually tried this particular waterer?
